Home-School & In-Home Daycare Days will be September & November Weekdays as well as Columbus Day Oct. 8th
On Home-School & In-Home Daycare Days, Home-school families and In-Home Daycare providers can come in and pay the school group rate + sales tax without having to have the group minimum of 25, you must still make a reservation and pay for the group with one payment. All other days of the season group minimums and/or general admission prices will apply.
Civil War Reenactment Day Fri. Sept. 28th
On the Civil War Reenactment Day the skirmish will take place around 12:15 pm in order for younger kids wanting to visit the pumpkin patch that morning to have time to enjoy all the activities before the loud noises take place after lunch. This day is perfect for Middle – High school students that are studying American History. The prices for this day will be the same as below. The only difference being the older children (11 & up) will not get a pumpkin like the elementary children do (a pie pumpkin can be added for $2 additional). They will also get to take the hayride and visit the corn maize and the civil war encampments to see how the soldiers would have lived back during the war. They can also catch one of the pig race shows, visit the petting zoo, ride the train ride and eat lunch at the farm. Please contact us if you have any more questions.
Hands-on learning experiences are always best when students have been prepared for what they are about to encounter and are able to then discuss what they learned afterwards. We are pleased to offer the Classroom in the Corn learning series to make your field trip more exciting and memorable … as well as a better learning experience.
These Teacher Resource Guides are broken into separate grade ranges and each include: activity goals, National Curriculum Standards, preparation required, materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions. Once you book your field trip with Cedar Hill Farm this fall we will email you a link and password to Classroom in the Corn, included in your confirmation email.
Groups that have made Reservations such as: Day Cares, Nursing Homes, Scout Groups, Kids Camps, Youth Groups, Church Groups and Home School groups may be eligible for the school group rates but may be subject to 7% MS sales tax.
All tax exempt groups must bring a copy of their MS sales tax exempt letter upon check in if they do not already have one on file with us, we only need one per school on file. Any unscheduled group may be charged general admission prices. Out of state tax exempt letters will not work for MS sales taxes.
There is a 25 person minimum for a home-school group or in-home daycare wanting school group rates on a non home-school or in-home daycare day.
Package #1: $7.00 per Child & $7.00 per Adult
Package #1 Includes: Entry into the Farm, a Hayride out to the Corn Maize & Pumpkin Patch (Includes 1 pie pumpkin per child), the Petting Zoo, the Ag in the Classroom Chicken Show, the Education Station, Cedar Hill Rail Road, the Pig Races “Pigadega 500” (showtimes 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 & 2:30) and use of our Play and Picnic Areas.
Package #2: $9.00 per Child
Package #2 Includes: All of Package #1 plus a Pony Ride for each child.
Package #3: $13.00 per Child
Package #3 Includes:All of Package #2 plus a Farm Lunch. Farm Lunch Includes: an all beef Hot Dog, Chips, Juice Drink and Dessert. Substitute a Hamburger/Cheeseburger for $1.00 more. Upgrade to milk for .50 more.
Package #4: $11.00 per Child & $11.00 per Adult
Package #4 Includes: All of Package #1 plus a Farm Lunch.
NEW for 2018!!! (recommended for 3rd grade and up) Package #5: $12.00 per Child
Package #5 Includes: All of Package #1 but each paid Child will get to go to our new Jack-O-Lantern Patch and get a Jack-O-Lantern instead of a smaller pie pumpkin. (we do not recommend this package for children under 3rd grade, the pumpkins will be too big for them to carry, these are carving sized pumpkins)
Older kids can enjoy all of the farm activities except for the pony rides and the Kiddie part of the playground where the baby swings, playhouse, small slides and sandbox are located.

Package #6 Includes: All of Package #5 plus a Farm Lunch
In order to get the field trip rates, a reservation must be made and all money from students and adult chaperones must be collected and paid as one payment upon arrival through a group leader. Anyone that does not pay through the group leader will be charged the general admission price. We take school check, cash and credit card. All adults, including staff must wear their admission sticker to show that they have checked in and payed. Children will not be given stickers. Field trip rates are not offered on weekends.
Three Hours is the average time needed to complete all the activities including eating lunch on one of our field trips. If you feel you may not have this much time, you can leave off some of the activities in order to cut out time.
In order to ensure that you get the date that you want please book at the beginning of each semester. Also, if you want to avoid the crowds book at the beginning of the week instead of the end and also book further away from major holidays ex. Halloween and Good Friday.
We are working hard to ensure that field trips at Cedar Hill Farm are as educational and fun as they can be. We are making improvements to facilities and reworking our scheduling every season to make your field trip more enjoyable. Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated.
